It wasn't that long ago that the drug task force was chasing meth cooks through the back woods who manufactured 8-12 grams of poor quality product per cook. Now high quality product is coming across our southern border by the truck load. Every interdiction on this end of the pipeline leads to five or ten more willing to take their place. We are losing this battle and must shift interdiction to the border. Fentanyl is the new go to drug coming across the border and it is deadly. A two milligram dose is lethal. Over 412 pounds have been seized this year. Do the math, that is enough to kill 93 million people. It remains unknown how much was not seized however the extent of this deadly problem is clear. I aim to get the dealers out of our communities. Our children deserve the chance to grow up safe in our communities without deadly drugs being readily available.
