Violent crime is up all across the country. Up 35% in Chicago, 33% in Minneapolis, 41% in New York and a whopping 207% in Portland. The murder rate is the highest it's been in 25 years. There were over 750 shootings in Philadelphia this past summer and this past Labor Day weekend there were 40 shot and 6 dead in Chicago. These numbers are directly related to defunding police, no bail policies and endless programs catering to criminals. I say enough is enough and I will not tolerate violent crime in Dubuque. I will be the bulwark against violent crime in our communities. Violent criminals must be removed from our communities so we can feel safe in our homes and walking down our streets. We can not, and I will not allow big city violence to continue the current trend. Help me make Dubuque safe again. Vote NELSON for County Attorney and we will clean up crime together.
